Theatre power Baron Lloyd Webber of Sydmonton is non a fan of the Cats pic – indeed more so that it made him get a dog. Based along his 1981 singable of the same name, the picture show was panned by critics with a valuation of 20% connected review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes and it reportedly lost Universal joint Pictures over $100 million.

"Cats was soured-the-scale all wrong," Andrew Lloyd Webber said in a recent interview with Variety. "There wasn't really any understanding of why the medicine ticked at all. I saw it and I just thought, 'Oh, God, no.' It was the firstly clock time in my 70-rum years on this planet that I went out and bought a give chase. Thus the one sainted thing to come out of it is my minute Havanese pup."

He added: "I wrote off and said I needed him with me the least bit times because I'm emotionally damaged and I mustiness have this therapy dog. The airline wrote rachis and said, 'Can you rise that you really need him?' And I said 'Yes, just insure what Hollywood did to my musical Cats.' Then the approval came plunk for with a note saying, 'Zero doctor's report card required.'"

The 2019 movie features an A-list ensemble cast including Judi Dench, Ian McKellen, Jennifer Hudson, Idris Elba, Taylor Swift, Jason Derulo, Rebel Wilson, and James I Corden. Lloyd Webber's other musicals include The Phantom of the Opera, Savior Christ Superstar, and Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat.
